Volunteers play an important role in supporting and delivering our programmes and services. We welcome everyone, including our beneficiaries and corporates, to join our pool of volunteers to reach out a helping hand to families and individuals in need.

GEM (Go the Extra Mile) Mentoring Programme

  • In this role, you will have the wonderful opportunity to befriend and support students in their learning journey.

    As a facilitator, you will create a nurturing and encouraging environment that fosters growth and development.

    Building strong connections with the students, you will serve as a dependable mentor, providing guidance and inspiration to help them reach their full potential.

    • At least 17 years old

    • Bilingual in English and Mandarin

    • Able to commit on a regular basis (weekly or fortnightly) for a period of 8 months

    • Held at 8 Primary Schools

    • 3-4 hours per week

kidsREAD

  • In this role, you will have the delightful opportunity to read stories aloud to children, igniting their imagination and love for literature.

    As a facilitator of the reading program, you will also conduct various activities designed to enhance their reading skills and foster a deeper appreciation for books.

    • At least 18 years old

    • Able to speak fluent English

    • Able to commit weekly for at least one year

    • Enjoy reading to children

    • Enjoy interacting with children and organising activities for them

    • 12 CDAC Centres and β€˜Vibrance @ Yishun’ Self-Help Groups Centre

    • 1 hour per week on either Saturday or Sunday

Play-Based Learning Programme

  • Your role will be to provide essential support to the children during the program and actively engage in facilitating play-based activities alongside the trainers, creating a fun and enriching environment for the children to learn and grow.

    Your nurturing and encouraging demeanour will make you a positive role model, inspiring the children to explore and express their potential.

    By fostering a sense of self-esteem and self-confidence, you will empower the children to embrace new challenges and flourish in their personal and social development.

    • 21 - 45 years old

    • Able to commit weekly, for a period of 10 months

    • Mature, independent, positive, and dedicated

    • Enjoy interacting with preschool children and facilitating activities for them

    • Believe that every child is unique and that they are developing, and learning at their own pace, in their own special way

    • 3 Centres

    • 1.5 hours every Saturday afternoon

Project YOUth Can Shine

  • Your primary responsibility will be to provide small group tutoring sessions to students, helping them improve their understanding of mathematical concepts.

    You will also play a crucial role in fostering positive values among the students by planning and organising activities that promote character development and ethical behaviour.

    To ensure their overall growth and success, you'll closely monitor their academic progress and behaviour, offering guidance and support as a positive role model.

    Beyond academics, you'll be a trusted confidant, providing a listening ear and offering emotional and social support to help them navigate challenges and foster a sense of belonging.

    • 21 – 35 years old

    • Preferably with GCE β€˜A’ levels or tertiary qualifications

    • Able to guide Sec 1 and Sec 2 students in Mathematics

    • Able to commit weekly, for a period of 10 months

    • Mature, optimistic and dedicated

    • Enjoy working with youth beneficiaries and able to build a good rapport with them

    • 3 hours every Saturday afternoon

Supervised Homework Group Programme

  • As a supervisor and mentor, your role will be to provide guidance and support to students in their studies, behaviour and values. You'll plan and lead enriching educational activities that promote learning and personal growth.

    Being a positive role model is essential, as you'll be instrumental in building their self-esteem and self-confidence.

    Additionally, you will offer a listening ear and provide support and encouragement to help them overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

    • 17 – 35 years old

    • Preferably with GCE β€˜A’ levels or tertiary qualifications

    • Able to guide P4 to P6 students in English and Math subjects

    • Able to commit weekly, for a period of 10 months

    • Mature, independent, positive and dedicated

    • Enjoy interacting with student beneficiaries and organising activities for them

    • 7 CDAC Centres & Vibrance @ Yishun Self-Help Group Centre

    • 3 hours every Saturday afternoon
